Parent Resources

St. Gabriel School is a Catholic school in the Diocese of Cleveland. While a primary goal of the school is academic excellence, the academic and all other programs of the school exist within the primary framework of the Catholic Church.

Transportation

Bus transportation to and from St. Gabriel School is provided by both the Riverside Board of Education and the Mentor Exempted Village Board of Education.

Under Ohio law (ORC 3327.05), the Mentor Board of Education cannot transport a Riverside student to a Mentor address without a written release from the Riverside Board of Education. Likewise, Riverside cannot transport a Mentor student to a Riverside address without written release from the Mentor Board of Education. It is the parents' responsibility to make the necessary arrangements when such a need arises.

Morning Procedure

All cars and buses enter by the driveway between the school and church. Buses drop children off at the main entrance of the school building.

Cars should proceed around the back of the school into the driveway on the north side of the school and drop riders off at the delivery entry doors. Adults are on duty at both entrances.

Afternoon Procedure

Buses arrive and park in the coned off area of the parking lot. Students are dismissed to the buses through the Main Office entrance doors and the Multipurpose Room entrance doors.

Parents picking up students must enter by the driveway between the school and church, park ONLY IN THE AREA OF THE LOT THAT IS OUTSIDE THE CONES, and then remain in their cars. After buses are cleared from the area inside the cones, parents will be permitted in the building to pick up their child from their designated classroom.

No child is allowed to go from the school to a car in the parking lot unless accompanied by an adult.
