Faith Formation

Faith Formation at St. Gabriel School
Rooted in Christ – Growing in Faith

At St. Gabriel School, the religious formation of our students is at the heart of all we do. Our goal is to nurture a strong, living faith in each child through prayer, learning, worship, service, and community.

Our Campus Minister guides students in meaningful faith experiences through retreats, liturgies, clubs, and special opportunities that deepen their relationship with God both in and beyond the classroom.

Daily Faith Learning and Worship
  • Religion classes are held each day, helping students explore scripture, Church teachings, and Catholic traditions.
  • Students in Grades 2–8 attend Mass weekly on Wednesdays, as well as on Holy Days of Obligation.
  • Jr. Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 students participate in a Liturgy of the Word at church on Wednesdays, where they listen to the Gospel and homily and begin learning about the Mass. These youngest learners begin attending full-school Mass in the second half of the year.
Prayer & Service in Action
  • Students regularly plan and participate in prayer services and para-liturgies tied to seasonal themes, curriculum topics, or special school events.
  • A spirit of prayer fills our classrooms, and students are encouraged to grow in a life of Christian service through outreach, mission efforts, and faith-in-action activities.
Living Our Faith through Leadership
  • Students embrace the servant heart of Christ through opportunities like Student Council, the beloved Eighth Grade/First Grade Buddy Program, and a required Service Program for Grades 7 and 8.
Sacramental Life
  • Second Grade is a special year of preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. This journey is thoughtfully woven throughout the year, in partnership with our parish.
  • Grades 3–8 are given opportunities during the year to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, nurturing ongoing spiritual growth and grace.
Through all these moments—big and small—we strive to form disciples of Jesus who live their faith with joy, compassion, and courage.
