​Philosophy
I believe in teaching each child to their own individual strengths and needs. It is a priority of mine to build a classroom environment that is encouraging and accepting of each child's unique story and attributes. I feel honored to play a small role in each of my students’ lives and I take that responsibility to heart. It is my strong belief that education extends way past the school walls. It is my goal to include Christ-centered life lessons within our curriculum daily to help build students with strong moral character in addition to being lifelong learners.

Mrs. Yolanda Ackerman teaches 5th Grade. She earned her Pre-K to 3 and 4/5 endorsement as an Early Childhood Education major from Lake Erie College. Mrs. Ackerman has been a short and long-term sub for Painesville City, Riverside, Mentor and Willoughby-Eastlake school districts. She has shared that she is committed to a student centered teaching philosophy anchored in strong relationships and is skilled at integrating technology and designing meaningful learning experiences to reach every learner at their level.
